1. I am a sci-fi and animation movie freak. I have cried at those movies more than at romantic, dramatic ones. Avatar, Star Trek – tears! Beaches, The Notebook – nothing.
2. I collect PEZs. I think I have over 300 of them? Lost count. One day, I am hoping to build some sort of shelf where I can display them all. I apologize to my husband now.
3. Speaking of husband. I met mine while on a training course (old job) and had intended to just have “fun” (wink wink) for a few weeks. Why not? No strings attached. Instead, fell in love and 3 years later, he moved from Budapest to Montreal (here). Married for almost 7 years now.
4. I studied mathematics and computer science most of my life because it was what my parents expected. I developed my creating skills secretly. I turned out to be half-geek and half-artist. Right brain vs left brain. It’s confusing sometimes.
5. Lavender is my favourite smell in the whole entire world and wish to retire somewhere in Provence, France growing them with my Hungarian hunk.
6. I love taking care of people. I would make a big pot of chicken soup if you tell me you have a cold. I’m like mom-for-hire.
7. I didn’t grow up in the 70s but I am a disco-fan! Something about disco music that is always happy happy happy. The 70s must have been one decade of parties!
8. I’ve always wanted to choreograph dances for male strippers. I’ve been to a few shows and always thought they were cheesy. They definitely don’t know what excites us. Ladies, am I right? In my mind, I’ve choreographed a few dances. I would hear a music and say to whoever I’m with…”that’s a good strip song!”. heehee
9. I still take pictures using film. I have 3 polaroid vintage cameras, 1 hasselblad, 2 nikons – all manual. We have a dark room, too. Something about the chemical smell. Yes, I’m so old-school!
10. I wish I can invent time. There is so much to do and so little time.

1. I've lived in Connecticut my whole life.
2. I really want to leave Connecticut...for a time at least.
3. I was homeschooled from late elementary school through high school.
4. I'm a craft dabbler...I macrame, woodburn, quill, sew, knit. I want to learn it all.
5. I'm a bit addicted to Brit lit costume dramas, i.e., Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Daniel Deronda, Little Dorrit. Pretty much anything Masterpiece Theater/BBC churns out.
6. I love books and reading. Prefer real books to e-books. I like the smell of the pages.
7. I'm becoming increasingly fond of vintage/pre-loved home decor items and books in particular. I like to think I'm saving the things from a slow death in the dump.
8. Sometimes, I run down empty grocery store aisles.
9. Chinese food is my take-out food staple. Fried rice for the win!
10. When I'm happy, I sing Christmas songs. It's a subconscious thing.

1. i figure skated for 14 years.
2. i write the way i think, disjointed and full of emotions and references to "you". Sometimes when i look back, i cannot remember who the "you" is and i chuckle and regret being so vague.
3. art really pulls at my heart strings and gets me fired up, but nothing gets to me like live music. i have definitely teared up at more than one concert. and when James Ehnes plays Mozart, live or not, i lose myself completely.
4. at 26, i still puddle jump and wish on stars.
5. i love conversations with perfect strangers, especially when you end up walking away before introductions are made. pleasant moments. blips. with no expectations.
6. i am a sucker for pretty party dresses, fresh flowers, big snow flakes, dainty jewelery, monogrammed anythings, afternoon tea and sunday brunch. but if you call me girlie, i'll probably be annoyed.
7. I have lived in the suburbs, the country, and the city. You couldn't pay me to go back to the suburbs, but I find it hard choosing between the country and the city. Toronto is home for now, but I run away to the north or to the east every chance i get.
8. i always wanted to be an actress growing up. not for the fame, not for the money, but for the ability to be a million different people in one lifetime.
9. i was told i was a natural dancer, even encouraged to audition for university, though i had never taken any formal training. i'd still like to, but i'm afraid i'd lose myself to it.
10. i have 30 cameras. most of which are antiques, but still work beautifully after some mild alterations.

1. I'm a 30 year old designer born and bred in the UK. Yay for Brits!
2. I have a son who's 19 months old and lost another son to Trisomy 18 at 16wks pregnant. The hardest thing I ever had to do was bury our second son in his tiny coffin. I'm now pregnant again but it's early days (10wks) so we hope things are fine.
3. I hope to move abroad in 5 years to Rwanda where my husband is from so we can bring up our kids in the sun with a great and relaxed quality of life.
4. Because we are planning to move (and to a country with no real postal service) I have made the change to running my businesses online so I can do them anywhere in the world. I loved my handmade business but since I love the designing more my new soon to be embroidery pattern business is a dream come true.
5. I love jewellery but only ever wear my wedding ring and earrings. Oops
6. I'm a big planner. Sometimes I over plan then get freaked out if something changes.
7. I'm the oldest of 3 girls. All my cousins are girls on my mum and dad's side so I always knew I would have boys.
8. I knew only a few days after meeting my husband that we would marry one day. I also knew we would have sons due to a dream one week after meeting where we had four! We met at uni 8 years ago and have been in love ever since.
9. I love taking photos and would love to learn to use my DSLR properly. I've had great comments on my son's photos and portraits and would love to take portraits for others.
10. My favourite Christmas song is O Holy Night. Makes me cry everytime.

1. Nicholas Cage's voice bugs me.
2. I once pushed a sani-hut down a hill.
3. Before Ted Kazinski was arrested, I thought I knew who the Uni-Bomber was.
4. We don't have cable because HGTV will inspire me to drain all our investments.
5. I love modern, sleek design, but my personality is too cluttered to pull it off.
6. I enjoy planning every intricate detail of a vacation.
7. I’m pretty sure my husband fell in love with me because I carry binoculars in my car so we can read the movie times from the curb.
8. I’m damn good at math.
9. I would rather something look good than be functional.
10. I share your dream of opening a stationery boutique with local art and hot tasty drinks.

5. Lavender is my favourite smell in the whole entire world and wish to retire somewhere in Provence, France growing them with my Hungarian hunk.
6. I love taking care of people. I would make a big pot of chicken soup if you tell me you have a cold. I’m like mom-for-hire.

1. I'm an on-the-brink of 28 year old Connecticut transplant living in the Burlington, Vermont area and love it to pieces. Lots of art, music, my husband's family and loooong winters!
2. I started an MBA program last year and then realized I was lying to myself about who I really am. Quit after one course and started taking a photography class. Much happier now.
3. Pretty photographs of pretty things make me insanely happy.
4. Like Amanda (reader above), I have an unhealthy obsession with all things stationery and office related. I find myself hoarding cute stuff because it's too adorable to use.
5. I operate (on a very part-time basis) a handmade business/hobby called Paper and Stitch where I get to indulge my creative whims.
6. I long for the day when I can make a living doing something I absolutely live and breathe for.
7. I love giving my dog kisses right on the spot under his ears. Puppies need lots of kisses.
8. Traveling around Italy last year was one of the major highlights of my life thus far.
9. I love good food and great atmospheres (and great wine!), whether it's swanky or at a pub. Both win with me.
10. I wish I had more time to do the things I really love (and to stalk more crafty/design blogs!).

Fun stuff! What a great idea! I enjoy reading your blog and find myself relating to a lot of your posts! :-)

1. I'm a 26 year old, female, second child, graphic designer living in Sydney Australia.
2. I love Australia and it will always be home but for as long as I can remember I have longed to experience new places. I have been to the US but am aching to visit the UK and Europe and many other places one day.
3. I have a very unusual passion for stationery. Give me pens, paper, notebooks, correction tape, paperclips you name it and I'm happy! OH and Magazines too! Most people just don't get that about me!
4. The last 7 years of my life have been emotional torture with many horrible things happening including losing my Dad to Motor Neurone Disease and the man I loved to a drunken driver. Emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually I have been broken down, but piece by piece I am putting myself back together, with great support I must add and I am so proud of myself and am truly starting to feel that anything is possible! This process has been a huge part of making me who I am!
5. It is my dream to one day run my own custom stationery business creating stationery for every occasion you can think of! Part of this dream is to own a gorgeous boutique in which to sell it all.
6. Most people who know me would never guess it, but one day I want to skydive!
7. I would love to live in another country for at least 6 months and would love to be fluent in another language.
8. Music touches my soul, it is a lifeline in my darkest times. I learned the Flute as a child and had voice coaching for 10 years. I love to sing!
9. I love love LOVE mid-century design and hope to one day build a house in the Modern style that is eco-friendly and sustainable but also utilities the best that current technology has to offer.
10. I really really dislike mushrooms
11. (the added bonus) I hate keeping secrets. I'm such an open person with my own life that I just want to share everything with everyone - I don't. I always keep secrets when I am asked to, but it just about kills me to do it!
12. (ok this is the last one promise) When I was a kid I would only ever eat hot chips (fries) when we went out anywhere to eat. I was so scared to try new foods - I don't know what changed, but I'm not like that now!

This is fun! Can't wait to read more entries!

1. I work (aka am obsessed) in the wedding industry, yet I hate (HATE) planning my own wedding.
2. Reading is my salvation.
3. I work from home, and every day I take a break to watch Oprah.
4. Pretty things make me swoon.
5. I'm obsessed with trashy reality TV - Jersey shore, anyone?
6. My past was wild and crazy, but was a gift that I treasure.
7. I really wish I was born in the UK!
8. I'm entirely too sarcastic, but refuse to censor myself.
9. I believe in authentic, realitybased love stories.
10. I will aways believe in taking risks.
