Sundays

I used to hate Sundays. Mainly because it meant I was either due at school or the office the next day. I’m sure you all know that feeling.

Today, on the last Sunday of the month, I only feel anticipation and excitement for tomorrow. As I say hello to March and the promise of Spring, I feel a certain inner peace knowing I’m about to close the door on the stress that was February.

So, as I lay here in bed with my coffee, I wish you all a wonderful Sunday. My Sunday will include pancakes, the typical household chores, some R’n’R to later be topped off with a movie (The Time Traveler’s Wife). Bliss!

What does (did) your Sunday entail?

UPDATE: So my Sunday didn’t go as planned above. The pancakes were replaced by brunch out and the chores, R’n'R and movie were replaced by staying out to watch the hockey game. The atmosphere was too addictive to leave. I had an awesome Sunday! HELLO MARCH!

  1. Hi Adele,

Sundays are sweet for me…we go to church (usually although we are a sick lot today) and the remainder of the day is spent with family…less structured, with rest laced in if at all possible.

Thanks for showing my photo…very thoughtful. I’m learning my camera everyday. I really do want to pet your boys!!

smile, enjoy your Sunday, and the folding of the February chapter…now on to a new, less stressful March edition :)

  2. March is always SUCH an exciting month. You can sense that spring is just around the corner and fresh new beginnings! I can’t wait to open the windows in the house, oh how lovely that will be! We enjoyed the game last night, it was so awesome!

  3. I think I know what you mean by not liking Sundays. They’ve always been some kind of in between day for me when I haven’t been able to enjoy today but just to plan (and worry) about the next week. I think as I get older, day by day, I have been able to turn Sundays into something good. It’s time to unwind, and not even trying to accomplish anything “real”, just something that makes you feel good right at that moment. Thanks for a beautiful post!

  4. I had family and my mum visiting this weekend so Sunday involved eating lots, chatting and just chilling out. We also watched a movie and just enjoyed our time tighter before they had to head home.

Exicted to get to March. Hope you have a great month!

  5. Sounds like you had a fabulous day! I’m a fan of Sundays, but they still leave me feeling a little bit sad about the end of the weekend. This Sunday was amazing, my children had a sleepover, so my husband and I slept until 1015 for the first time in years. We then had a birthday party for my nephew, we watched the hockey game (so intense I wanted to be sick) and then watch the closing ceremonies. It was a great day which I will remember for a long time.
