Back away from the paper!

I’ve always had a love affair with paper. I remember as a kid having mountains of books, sketchpads, writing paper… the whole shebang. Even then I was protective. The thought of anyone getting them dirty or even worse, bending a corner was unthinkable to me.

I’ll admit, I’m still that way. Though perhaps not as anal but protective enough that people (hi James) know to handle it with care. So, when I recently had a Twitter conversation with my friend Tara from BoutiqueKarma about the arrival of her notepads, I just had to share it here with you. It seems I’m not the only one that protects her paper.

What about you? Are you protective over objects that may make others think you’ve lost a few screws? If so, what?

Hahaha! Love this post! Well I used to be very protective over my stationery – erasers, pencils, journals, papers, things like that. It was until my college time that I slowly let go of this. Now… I can’t really think of anything that I’m very protective of. Perhaps my working table? I like my mess. LOL!

I grew up with a father who insisted on lists, of course I laughed at the idea, I’ve grown up and almost can’t start anything without the lingering lists. Now with two children of my own, there is very little that is solely mine anymore. I end up sharing everything, my lists and journal are the only things left that I can truly call mine. I feel insanely protective over them and hate to find crazy scribblings on them or even worse, to find that my sister with the terrible writing (and spelling) has scribbled all her families birthdays on my calendar (eeek).

lol – I love this post, especially since I am guilty of protecting anything leftover that is delicious to eat. Pizza, dessert, chinese food and the like. I grew up in a home where if you brought something home to eat later on and put it in the fridge without putting your name on it, it would be gone by morning. I admit that I still do that, although if my 3 year old asked to have my cake, I would surely give it to him!
