My 2012 Calendars are here. Like my Holiday line, I went the DIY printable route this year. So, if you wanted to stuff some stockings with calendars (everyone needs a calendar right), just print as many as you need.
First up, the 2012 Wall Agenda version. There’s spots to fill in birthdays, appointments and other events. If an event moves or you make a few mistakes, simply print another copy.

And last but not least, the simple Wall version. Pin copies to your office bulletin board to brighten it up. Or slip a copy into your daily notebook.

2012 Wall Calendar
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. The weather is shaping up to be great here so I plan on spending as many hours outdoors as possible. I have been chained to my desk for weeks. Time for some R’n’R!
Just the other day, my friend Julie reminded me on Twitter that the Holidays are only 5 weeks away. Talk about a kick up the arse as I’m not even close to ready. My days seem jam packed lately and before I know it, it’s bedtime. Each day I am crossing stuff of my to-do list, yet it doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller. Anyway, I digress…
One of the things scratched off my to-do list is the official (and last!) ME holiday line. I went a different route this year and made the entire collection as printables. I know many of us leave things until last minute (hello procrastination!) so no more counting how many cards/tags you need to order, just print off as needed. Check it out!

What about you? Feeling ready for the Holidays? Nope!
Hello friends, I’m happy to share my new notepad is now officially available. As you can see, this notepad delivers a wee bit of sass and I do hope you appreciate it’s cheekiness. I did consider being a little bit more PG and going with SH*T over SHIT instead but well, sometimes we have to tell it like it is right?

This notepad is available as a single unit but I’m also offering it as a bundle of 3 (great for gifting) with a 10% discount.
So, what do you think?
A few week ago while doing my notepad inventory, I noticed a few of my Daily Chores notepads were not cut accurately. As you can see from the photo, the right margin is were the cutting error occurred. So, I’m selling them off as seconds for only $6.30 (40% off) + shipping.

A few have already been snapped up, so if you’d like to grab one simply pop me a note on Etsy with the color you’d like (only pink and orange available) and I’ll give you a coupon code to use.
Happy March!
I’ve been wanting to do some one color work for a while now and I thought my 2011 Desktop Calendar lent itself perfectly to this project. Black and white seemed like the only option. Perfect for minimalist interiors.

I plan on using this version around my own home.
What do you think?
I’m testing a new product in the shop – printable paper goods. I’ve debated many a time whether I wanted to offer these but hey, I won’t know until I try right? First up are printable bookplates. As a kid (okay and an adult) I was always a little possessed with my books. I was never a fan of lending them to others and I STILL remember the one book I lost and WHO has it. Should of put a bookplate on it. ;)

IDEA: Want to use these as regular labels instead? Just request a file without the text. No problem. :)
P.S. Don’t forget… today is the last day to get 25% OFF my 2010 Holiday Collection and 2011 Desk Calendars.
*** UPDATE: I went ahead and dropped the prices in my Etsy shop to make it easier! ***
I’ve been slowly adding all of my Holiday 2010 designs into my shop the past week or so and the update is now complete! Have you seen it? If so, I hope you like it! And if not, go take a look. But, first read this…
If you’ve been jonesing for some modernemotive goodies, I highly recommend you order your Holiday items soon. Before we know it, the mailing system is going to clogged with gifts and greetings making their way to the recipients and the likelihood of customs keeping your package hostage for a little while is increased.
As an incentive, check out my Holiday deal below. Enjoy!

Okay, NOW you can go check out the new Holiday goodies. I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend friends! xoxo
Early this week, an email appeared in my Inbox from a retail store located in Boston requesting my notepads for wholesale. As can be expected, my initial reaction was “OMG, so cool!”. I’ve had many requests. But then, reality sets in when I realize I’m not set-up to wholesale and still need to iron out many details. Yes, I know, I know, it’s been on my to-do list forever. But, let’s not go there. I’m saving that for another post.
Anyway, I fired off an email letting them know when I plan on officially opening up for wholesale (I have a plan I swear) but they asked if there was anyway they could get some for the Holiday season. This request made me pause. Did I really want to lose a potential opportunity because I didn’t feel ready? Because perhaps everything won’t be as perfect as I would hope? I didn’t. I couldn’t. I owed it to myself to just say YES and let the chips fall where they may. So, I did. I said yes.
I’ll share more on the actual shop soon. It’s truly beautiful and worthy of it’s own dedicated post. But I will say it’s stocked with the most beautiful, eco and sustainable products. And, that my little paper goods are going to be amongst the work of some of my favorite stationery designers. I’m honored, excited, nervous and everything in between.
So, yes, modernemotive is heading to Boston. I did it. I took the plunge.

I updated my product shots last week and I’m now selling off the open stock I have for the notepads. By open stock I mean the shrinkwap has been removed. Otherwise, they are in perfect condition and were stored safely away in my supply cupboard to prevent damage.
I’m now selling the 6 notepads below in sets of 2 (any 2) for $16 + shipping. You will be sent the colors seen below in a sturdy cardboard mailer to prevent any damage. If anyone is interested, just send me a convo on Etsy.

Hope you are all having a fab week so far. I hope to be back blogging with some regularity soon. And not just shop updates I promise! xo
So excitement took over and I decided to put my 2011 Calendar on pre-order. Patience is clearly not my virtue. Here’s a look at more of the monthly patterns.

Available in both my Etsy and Big Cartel shops. It will start shipping out late next week.
Have an awesome weekend!
I’ve got a sneak peek for you today. I’ve been busy designing all week (hence my lack of presence over here) and one of the projects I wrapped up was the very first modernemotive calendar for 2011. I’m so excited to get this in the shop. I am just waiting (i.e. stalking my mailbox) for the last component.

It will be available in my shop very soon so stay tuned.
What did you get up to this week? Man did it fly by huh?
I have a fairly large wall in my my main living area. Right now it’s the home for a painting I bought years ago. Sadly, that painting no longer fits in with my tastes and so I’ve been formulating plans for this wall of mine over the last few weeks.
Some of you may of seen my moodboard for my main living area. First of all, yes, it still hasn’t been started BUT I promise you, it’s been slated for September. No ifs or buts. Anyways, let’s forget about my lack of following through for now… I mentioned back then I was going to purchase the Toronto Ork Poster in black and white. I still am and I’ve decided to build a whole photo gallery wall around it.
Rather than talk my way through it I figured I’d give you some context. So, below is where I am thinking of going. The photos shown aren’t necessarily the ones I’ll use but at least it gives you an idea (please ignore the scale of the images within the frame too!). I wanted to add a small burst of color to it but not something that would compete with the photography. Of course, finding frames/images that will work with the symmetry I’m hoping for may not be possible, but I’ll adapt if need be.

As I hope for the wall to be full of great memories and things near and dear to me, I wanted any artwork on there to be my own too. I want the wall to be a story all of it’s own. So, as I love quotes and lean on them often when I need a bit of motivation, I took two I discovered recently and turned them into prints which are now available in my shop. I adore how they look in white frames and I hope that you do too. I’m already sending this one out in gray to a customer so I’m excited to see how others place these within their homes as well. I currently have them at an introductory price of $8 but they will go up to $12 as of July 30th!
